German Ambassador pays courtesy visit to BGMEA President


Ambassador of Germany to Bangladesh Peter Fahrenholtz paid a courtesy visit to BGMEA President Faruque Hassan at BGMEA office in Dhaka on 2 May.

They had discussion on the progress of current projects between BGMEA and German development agency GIZ and also on possible avenues of collaboration between Germany and Bangladesh to facilitate further development of Bangladesh apparel industry, especially in the area of sustainability.

The German Ambassador praised the RMG industry’s strides in sustainability as the country has highest number of green garment factories in the world.  BGMEA President Faruque Hassan expressed his thanks to the Ambassador for the German government’s friendly support for the development of Bangladesh RMG industry.

Constanza Zahringer, Deputy Head of Mission, and Caren Blume, Head of Development Section, the Embassy of Germany were also present on the occasion.
