Cordura created its first collection of hemp-blend denim fabrics in collaboration with Artistic Milliners

Cordura created its first collection of hemp-blend denim fabrics in collaboration with Artistic MillinersCordura, a fabric brand owned by Invista, has created its first collection of hemp-blend denim fabrics, produced in collaboration with Pakistani denim mill Artistic Milliners. According to Sourcing Journal, the collection includes 11-ounce and 12-ounce fabrics produced with 20 percent hemp imported from France. Artistic Milliners and Cordura collaborated to create the materials, which are being sold to a variety of customers at the mill, including performance wear manufacturers and businesses that emphasize durability as part of their sustainability message. Apart from the environmental benefits of hemp, the hemp denim collection demonstrates Cordura’s commitment to attaining sustainability through long-lasting products. Cordura Denim, which is made from a combination of Invista’s military-grade T420 nylon-6,6 staple fiber and cotton, has been found to be at least four times more durable than typical 100 percent cotton fabrics.

Cordura debuted a digital fabric library called Cordura Fabric Finder in January, which allows businesses to browse the collection using a user-friendly digital interface. This year, the brand is collaborating with Haining Jintai, a Chinese mill, to release a jersey nylon and hemp knit.
