The launching ceremony of the 9th International Fire, Safety, and Security Expo 2023 was held at Gevora Hotel in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Wednesday (18 January 2023).
Aiming to raise awareness among people about firefighting, the 9th expo organized by the Electronics Safety & Security Association of Bangladesh (ESSAB) will be held on November 21-23 at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC) in Dhaka.
ESSAB President Zahir Uddin Babar presided over the function while its Senior Vice President Md. Niaz Ali Chisty gave closing remarkets there.
Speaking as the chief guest at the launching ceremony, Ambassador of Bangladesh to UAE Mohammed Abu Zafar thanked the ESSAB for arranging such an expo and supporting the country to ensure fire safety and security issue in industries as well as residential sites. He also wished success for the ESSAB going forward.
“Bangladesh is an immense potential country for investment. The country’s infrastructure is developing vastly. The government facilitated the business environment as well. So, I request foreign investors to invest in Bangladesh, strengthen trade and commerce ties,” the ambassador also said.
As the special guest, the Consul general of Bangladesh at Consulate General in Dubai BM Jamal Hossain also appreciated the ESSAB activities and said they are with the businesses to resolve all problems to do better business.
“The Bangladesh Consul general is always active to help businessmen. I hope the trade relationship with UAE will be longer,” he also said.
The ESSAB Secretary General Mahmudur Rashid said a total of 40 business delegations went to UAE from Bangladesh on January 16 to do several business meetings and take part to arrange the launching ceremony and they will come back to Bangladesh on January 20.
“We accomplished the soft launching ceremony in UAE as our many traders do business with UAE. It will help to introduce Bangladesh to the international market in this sector. We will continue work to build a safe Bangladesh,” he also said.
He also added that 150 brands and institutions will display the world’s latest products on fire safety equipment in the three-day-long expo to be held in November this year. Four technical seminars will also be arranged, and ESSAB Safety Excellence Awards 2023 will be there.
Commercial consular of Bangladesh in UAE Kamrul Hasan, Former Director General of Bangladesh Fire Service and Civil Defence Brig. Gen Ali Ahmad Khan, ESSAB directors, members, and other stakeholders were also present there.
