The Kontoor Brands Foundation, the grant-making arm of denim company Kontoor Brands, has announced the inaugural recipients of its funding: seven organizations tackling food and housing security near the company’s headquarters in Greensboro, North Carolina.
“Successfully addressing the housing and food crisis and providing lifelong education opportunities in our community requires a sustained commitment,” said Kontoor CEO Scott Baxter, “and forms the basis for the Kontoor Brands Foundation’s mission.”
“Our inaugural grantees play an integral role in caring for local community members and effecting positive change for future generations.”
Backpack Beginnings, which helps feed, comfort, and clothe children in need; Community Housing Solutions, which helps repair housing; Family Service of the Piedmont, which addresses issues of domestic violence, child abuse, mental health, and financial stability; and Partners Ending Homelessness are among the 2023 grant recipients.
