AG Denim has revealed “The Jean Of Tomorrow”, a capsule collection of 100% biodegradable denim, on the occasion of Earth Day. This collection featuring 3 of the company’s most popular fits: the Tellis, a men’s modern slim cut that will retail for $210; Alexxis, a women’s high-rise vintage straight for $210, and the Sid, a men’s pleater trucker jacket for $240.

These Los Angeles-based jeans are made from organic cotton, grown without pesticides, herbicides, and synthetic fertilizers, and thoughtfully blended with hemp—a high-yield crop that produces significantly more fiber per acre than cotton and has a lower CO2 impact. The sustainable jeans development started with sourcing fabric close to AG’s Mexico facility to reduce the carbon footprint associated with overseas transportation. Plant-based and biodegradable lyocell is added to give a soft hand and lustrous finish to the final fabric. The jeans are made using Distilled Indigo, eco-awarded indigo, greatly reduces the consumption of water, chemicals, and energy in the dying process, while advanced laser finishing, eco-friendly wash ingredients, recycled water, and ozone technology to reduce water consumption & also to eliminate the need for harsh chemicals during finishing.
AG has been working to enhance its sustainability efforts and nowadays recycles more than 100,000 gallons of water a day intending to recycle more than 50 million gallons a year, a 90 percent reduction from prior years.
