Recycrom™ technology is ready to reshape (once again) the dyestuffs market: Recycrom™ Ready to Dye expands Officina39’s offering.
Kingpins Amsterdam marks the debut in the AW 23/24 collection of a further development of Recycrom™ Ready to Dye represents one more option for brands choosing sustainable dyeing.
Officina39, the Italian company specializing in the sustainable conversion of chemistry applied to textiles, patented Recycrom™: a revolutionary dyestuffs range, 100% derived from recycled used clothing, fibrous material and textile scraps. A full range of pigment powders obtained through a cutting-edge mechanical upcycling process that involves textile fibers from used clothing and manufacturing waste for dyeing applications.
Officina39 has never stopped developing this technology to provide brands with more and more sustainable options to color their collections, implementing its offer: Recycrom™ Eco Marble, the dyeing solution to obtain frosted colored effects; Recycrom™ for printing applications; Recycrom™ Gel, its waterless evolution.
To meet the needs of its customers once again, Recycrom™ Ready to Dye has now come to be: a range of 15 standard ready in stock colors, obtained from a minimum of 65% recycled textile pre- and post-consumer materials, to achieve fashionable dyes and colorations for use on cotton, wool, nylon or any cellulosic and natural fiber or blend.
Pure Recycrom™ allows brands to collaborate with Officina39 to make custom dyes from their own scraps and textile waste, Recycrom™ Ready to Dye offers them the possibility to choose and create their own colors from a standard color card, a palette of darker and brighter shades, assuring a true upcycling of textile waste without any chemical synthesis. From 100 kg of textile waste comes the amount of Recycrom™ Ready to Dye needed to dye 20,000 T-shirts.

“We wanted to broaden our services to meet the demands of all of our customers: we started with 100%, which remains the top priority for some of our partners, and developed a simpler, faster and more scalable solution for brands,” says Andrea Venier, Officina39 Managing Director. “The result is a range of ready-made in-house dyes that allows for cost and time optimization, which we are sure will be greatly appreciated by those who choose this new sustainable option.”
Stakeholders in the denim industry attending Kingpins Amsterdam will be able to judge for themselves the brilliant achievements of Officina39, featured in the AW 24/25 collection, as well as Smart Black, the innovative bleaching process of black-dyed apparel. Specifically, it allows to obtain light colors from black-colored textiles without the use of caustic soda. The innovation has a processing temperature of 50 degrees compared to the 70-80 degrees that standard processing requires – thus saving energy –, it can be applied on elastomer-featuring stretch garments, and it prevents zip, press stud and button stains. As its application involves only one step of maximum 30 minutes instead of the traditional 3-step process, Smart Black helps water reduction by 60%.
