NIKE Announces key leadership changes to Accelerate the Future of Sport

In a strategic move to fortify its position at the forefront of innovation and consumer engagement, NIKE, Inc. (NYSE:NKE) announced significant leadership changes aimed at catalyzing product innovation, design, and storytelling while solidifying its commitment to athletes worldwide.

NIKE Announces key leadership changes to Accelerate the Future of Sport

Leading the charge into the next phase of growth is John Hoke, a seasoned Nike veteran with 30 years of experience. Hoke, formerly Nike’s inaugural Chief Design Officer, will now serve as the Chief Innovation Officer, NIKE, Inc. In this role, he will collaborate with Tom Clarke, President of Innovation, to propel Nike’s innovation strategy and elevate its distinctiveness.

Taking the reins as the new Chief Design Officer, NIKE, Inc. is Martin Lotti, a stalwart with 26 years of design expertise at Nike. Lotti, previously the Chief Design Officer for the Jordan Brand, will oversee all facets of Nike design, spanning footwear, apparel, brand, and retail concepts.

Nicole Hubbard Graham, an industry luminary and former 18-year Nike veteran, will assume the position of Chief Marketing Officer, NIKE, Inc., effective January 2, 2024. Graham, founder of Adopt, a minority-owned creative agency, will lead Nike’s Global Brand Marketing team, steering the company’s marketing efforts toward its next era of growth.

Dirk-Jan “DJ” van Hameren, a pivotal figure in Nike’s global brand storytelling for 31 years, has decided to retire next summer. His departure marks the end of an illustrious career that significantly contributed to Nike’s brand elevation.

Heidi O’Neill, President of Consumer, Product, and Brand, NIKE, Inc., remarked, “Innovation, design, and storytelling have always been the heart and soul of Nike. These leadership changes enable us to obsess further over our unparalleled innovation, product, design, and storytelling to reimagine sport for the next generation of athletes.”

Joining the executive leadership team is Dr. Muge Erdirik Dogan, appointed as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) effective November 27, 2023. Dr. Dogan, previously the President of Amazon Fashion, will enhance the speed, efficiency, and quality of Nike’s consumer experiences, contributing to the realization of the company’s bold growth plans. She will report directly to John Donahoe, President & CEO, NIKE, Inc.

Donahoe expressed confidence in Dr. Dogan, stating, “Muge is a consumer-driven leader who prioritizes connecting technology and science to customer experience, product innovation, and supply chain efficiency to drive profitable growth. She joins our deep bench of leadership talent across the enterprise that will lead us to capitalize on the great opportunities ahead.”
