Department of Textile Engineering, City University recently organized the Fresher Reception and Farewell ceremony of Fall 2021 at their own campus Auditorium on 2nd January 2022.
Mr. Mujibul Islam (Panna), Vice Chairman, City University & Managing Director of Amico Laboratories Ltd. was presented as chief guest. Prof. Dr. Md Shah- E- Alam, Vice chancellor, City University; Engr. Md. Shahadat Hossain (Shiblu), Honorary General Secretary, The Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB); Engr. Md. Masudur Rahman, Chairman, Textile Engineering Division, The Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB); were present as guest of Honor.
Prof. Dr. Engr. Md. Humaun Kabir, Dean, Faculty of Science and Engineering & Adviser, City University was present as Chairperson. Many distinguished guests including Deans of all departments, Controller of Exam and Registrar were also present at the event. On behalf of City University Textile Alumni, Engr. Md. Zahurul Islam Rojen, Managing Director, Bhasani Machinery Co. & General Secretary, TEAACU also spoke on the program.
Country’s one of the prominent private universities City University started with three floors of the Blue Ocean Tower in the year 2002, 1st of October. They started with the Department of Computer Science and Engineering and the School of Business, offering Bachelor of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), and Masters and Bachelor of Business Administration (MBA and BBA), respectively. Later, the Department of English, Textiles Engineering and Mechanical Engineering were added upon approval by the University Grants Commission. At present, all departments are providing courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. As of date, the Departments of Law, Pharmacy and Pharmacology, Economics, Development Studies, and Telecommunications Engineering are in the final stages of approval by the University Grants Commission (UGC).
This Fresher reception event organized by Textile Engineering Department helped to uphold the value of City university among students and Textile communities. As the department is contributing countries Textile Industry that is supporting our economy vividly. All the speakers motivated and delivered guidelines to newly admitted students and fresh graduates for future career endeavors. Finally the event ended with a colorful cultural performance of students.
