The Bangladesh-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BGCCI) successfully organized a seminar on “Renewable Energy, Decarbonization, and Energy Transition” at Hotel Sheraton, Dhaka. The event brought together prominent policymakers, experts, and stakeholders to discuss critical issues and opportunities in sustainable energy.
The seminar was graced by Mr. Muhammad Fouzul Kabir Khan, Hon’ble Adviser to the Ministries of Power, Energy & Mineral Resources, Road Transport & Bridges, and Railways, as the Chief Guest. Among the Special Guests were H.E. Mr. Achim Tröster, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Bangladesh, and Dr. Khandker Md. Abdul Hye, Chairman of the Sustainable and Renewable Energy Development Authority (SREDA).
Keynote presentations were delivered by Dr. Ijaz Hossain, Energy and Environment Specialist from BUET, and Mr. Mohammad Alauddin, Rector of BPMI. Their insights provided valuable perspectives on renewable energy strategies and sustainable development goals.
The panel discussion, moderated by Dr. Ijaz Hossain, featured distinguished panellists, including:

- Engr. Ratan Kumar Ghosh, Member (Joint Secretary) of SREDA
- Mr. Faisal Rabbi, Energy Specialist at The World Bank

In his address, Mr. M. Maksud, President of BGCCI, emphasized, “The primary objective of this seminar is to raise awareness, foster collaboration, and share knowledge on renewable energy, decarbonization, and energy transition. These issues are pivotal to shaping a sustainable future for Bangladesh.”
The seminar was chaired by Mr. Tariq Anwar, Director of BGCCI, with Mr. Md. Farooque Khan, Vice President of BGCCI, serving as Co-Chairman. The program concluded with a vote of thanks, leaving participants inspired to advance Bangladesh’s energy transformation agenda.
