Allure Sourcing wants to source more high-end apparel from Bangladesh

Allure Sourcing wants to source more high-end apparel from BangladeshRajib Kamrul Islam, Managing Director, Allure Sourcing Ltd.

Today the industry in Bangladesh is catering to many prominent designers and brands of the world, but still, there are many brands that do not source from the country or have restricted the sourcing to only essential products without any value additions. Bangladesh-based one of the reputed and well-established Export oriented Buying & Sourcing Companies, Allure Sourcing Ltd started its business in 2018. Allure Sourcing Ltd is a supply chain solution company in Bangladesh for the iconic USA brand J.Crew & others.

Bangladesh has emerged as the third-largest readymade garment (RMG) product supplier to the United States after China and Vietnam. As a sourcing hub, we are primarily working with the US market with the most product range value-added products.

We are exporting various commodities worldwide and are pleased to forward the comprehensive list of products/items shipped by our company. With the belief in doing something innovative, our company always focuses on value-added products.

Products Ranges:

T-shirt, Polo shirt, Tang Top, vest, Sweatshirt, Fleece jacket, Hoodie Legging, sportswear, Loungewear; active wear for Men’s Women & Children’s products made of Local & Imported fabrics.

Sweaters, Pullover, and cardigans made of Acrylic, Cotton, Cotton/Acrylic, Acrylic/Wool, Cotton Like Cashmere, Acrylic smiling, Acrylic Mohair like (Tamu) local & imported yarns for Men’s Women’s & Children.

Denim & Non-Denim/ Woven: Pants, Shorts, Cargo, Jacket, Dress pants, Shirt (Casual & Formal) & other Top-Bottom Items Made of Local & Imported fabrics for men, Women & Children.

Challenges and Opportunities:

Bangladesh’s apparel industry, the second largest ready-made garment exporter in the world, has scrambled many challenges, and still, l it is overcoming many tough situations. Now Bangladesh is a trustworthy name for international buyers. Many skilled, dedicated persons and entrepreneurs are working hard to flourish in the sector.

Our garment industry has sporadically developed. Now that’s going to be the structural format. The industry is passing a good time for changing the formation. From the beginning, our clothing buyers thought Bangladesh was making cheap products with cheap labor costs. But recently, it has transformed itself incredibly and started producing diversified garment products.

For the time being, the country already has world-class factories in LEED-certified industries. The diversification of products is the demand of time to get better prices for the sustainability of the sector.

We have advanced a lot in safety and sustainability; Bangladesh’s garment industry lacks diversification. To compete in this fast fashion arena, we need to flag market and product diversification as an immediate need. This is when manufacturers should focus on value-added products, including sportswear, activewear, etc.

A recent study by the Bangladesh Institute of Development Studies (BIDS) found that the country’s industrial sectors are experiencing a 30% skills gap. Among them, agro-food processing and RMG sectors are facing a relatively moderate skills gap. All the stakeholders need to work for talent development. We have good technical sound and a massive hole in soft skills. Need a collaboration between industry and academia to establish a practical-oriented curriculum. Textile students work more on production-oriented jobs, especially in the Quality and pattern department.

Future Plan

Bangladesh needs to pick a strong position in the global apparel market; we should focus more on innovation and value addition in the industries with a short lead time that can be the lifeline of the apparel industry.

As a Bangladeshi company, we will go to a new market and search for more value-added buyers who are outside the Bangladesh market. We want to increase sourcing apparel from Bangladesh, especially more diversified value-added products.
