On November 1 and 2, Tokyo’s Sunshine City will play host to the first Japanese version of the event organized by Denimsandjeans. The performance was first planned for March 2020. However, the event was postponed due to local attempts to stop the spread of COVID-19.
This time, the topic is “Raw and Correct,” a reference to both the original (i.e., “raw”) composition of denim and the “right” method for producing the fabric in a sustainable manner. According to Denimsandjeans, the idea of rawness “in some way indicates that denim needs to remain connected to nature.”
Some of the Japanese exhibitors include Nihon Menpu, Collect, Showa, Shinohara, Sanyo Senko, Whoval, JDS, SAAB, HAP and more. The list of exhibitors from Japan and those from around the world can be found here.
Many local and international fabric, chemical, accessories, technology, trims, yarns, etc companies will be participating in the November show displaying their AW23 and SS24 collection. We are expecting to have all the big retailers and brands from Japan and many from US, Europe, Korea etc joining us this time.
