Due to the pandemic situation, European Union and the world put the effort into textiles, clothes, footwear, and accessories supply chains, in the midst of an ongoing social and climate crisis. On another hand, the COVID has seriously impacted major manufacturing hubs (China, India, and Italy), leading to major supply disorders. Textile industry is the heart of our economy. We have developed our industry a lot and there are so many remarkable developments we have already achieved i.e Green Industry, Compliance Factory, industry best practices etc. Team Denim Focus talked with industry owners and stakeholders and took quick feedback regarding the present business situation Humayun Kabir Salim, Managing Director, KFL Group, recently shared his opinion about the recent scenario of RMG industry with Denim Focus.

Lock down is not the permanent solution any more as the whole world is suffering around 2 years. Specifically for Bangladesh considering lots of different realities. We must find realistic solutions. Nobody knows how long the corona will continue like 5 years! 10 years!

However, our so-called intellectuals are commenting so many negative things specifically against Garments industries without knowing anything. They should realize that the Garments are the heart for Bangladesh now. You can see millions of peoples are running from all over the Country towards the industries area themselves though we are not insisting.

They know very well the importance. There are few people very interested in continuing the lock down indefinitely who don’t have any headache and are sitting at home getting all the luxurious benefits including higher regular salaries.

We really feel sad that we have lost lots of close relatives, friends, colleagues including Garments owners as we are also working with the workers in the floors. We also take huge risks at life and national responsibilities. We are also working as front liners for our country. Despite the critical situation our competitor’s country is running the industries. Hope we all can understand better for our country’s future
