We are passing a pandemic situation which is very unusual for us. We actually don’t know what is going to happen next. In respect to industry scenario it’s very difficult to run in full swing. Currently our industry is running with 60-70% capacity. We may hope to get some good trend in 2021. But it fully depends on the COVID-19 situation on that time. It’s good that stores are opening in Europe and we are getting some orders. As long time we are not getting orders and pressure of cost cutting we have to work with news strategy. Cost cutting is a vital issue and we have to work more strategic way with proper skill.
It’s time for us to work on Medical Textile. COVID-19 has taught us the necessity of medical textiles. Already we are getting huge quantity PPE, mask, hand gloves orders which is very significant for our industry. Post COVID-19 people’s life style will be changed and we need to work on diversified product. For the existence of the industry some factory will have to cut some workers’ job. Government has to come forward to plan for alternative job placement for the worker. Safety issue in the factories is also an important matter which to need to work on. Already we have adopt remarkable developments in factory safety and social distance. From The Institution of Textile Engineers and Technologists (ITET) we have taken some initiatives to support the members in this pandemic situation. Already ITET members are getting benefits of the initiatives. A dedicated team is working on activities for ITET members.
