The Forum, a panel contesting the upcoming Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) elections, unveiled its comprehensive election manifesto on Wednesday. The leaders of the Forum highlighted key priorities aimed at enhancing the image of the readymade garment sector, reducing the cost of doing business, and expanding the market globally.
The announcement took place during a press conference at the Holiday Inn, Dhaka, where Forum Secretary General Asif Ibrahim presented the manifesto on behalf of the Forum. The Forum’s president, MA Salam, and other panel members were present during the unveiling.
Asif Ibrahim emphasized the challenges facing the garment industry in the next two years and outlined the Forum’s vision through 25 points aimed at building a Smart BGMEA. Faisal Samad, a prominent member of the Forum, stated the necessity of an effective board comprising trustworthy, dutiful, hardworking, and experienced individuals. If elected, the Forum pledged to review the performance of directors every three months and consider reorganizing the BGMEA University of Fashion Technology trustee council.

The Forum’s panel consists of experienced industry professionals committed to the vision of a robust and globally competitive garment sector. The BGMEA elections are scheduled to be held on March 9 at the BGMEA complex in the capital. If elected, the Forum aims to implement its manifesto to drive positive change and growth in the Bangladesh garment industry.
