BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT) organized the “Campus to RMG Industry” event on February 17, 2025, fostering stronger ties between academia and the Ready-Made Garments (RMG) sector. Designed to equip students with industry insights, the event featured expert discussions on emerging trends, challenges, and career prospects.
Prof. Dr. Alamgir Hossain, Treasurer and Dean of the Faculty of Fashion Studies, inaugurated the event, while Prof. Dr. Engr. Ayub Nabi Khan, Vice Chancellor (Acting), served as the Chief Guest, emphasizing the role of academic institutions in shaping industry-ready professionals.
Industry experts shared valuable knowledge through engaging sessions. Mr. Sifat Ur Rahman, Director – Technical Support at American & Efird Bangladesh Limited, discussed seam strength, thread selection, and sustainable sewing technologies. Ms. Anjali Radhey, Head of Design & Developments at Progress Apparels Bangladesh Limited, PDS Group, explored the evolving role of designers, integrating sustainability, AI-based trend forecasting, and 3D modeling.
The event concluded with inspiring remarks from Ms. Hridika Nusrat Kuntala, Assistant Professor at BUFT, who curated the program. She highlighted the significance of continuous learning, ethical production, and hands-on industry engagement. By offering students direct exposure to real-world practices, “Campus to RMG Industry” reinforced BUFT’s commitment to innovation and excellence in fashion education, preparing future professionals for a dynamic global market.
